Tigullio Malta
Seventy years of nights
Tigullio has been part of Malta's nights since the fifties: born after the war as an open-air roller skating rink in a garden of Spinola Bay, turned into a club in the late sixties and reopened in 2015. Today it is the home of the island's live rap showcases and of an underground club vibe of its own.

What is Tigullio?
One of the first clubs of Malta's nightlife
Tigullio sits in the valley of Wied Għomor, just behind Spinola Bay in St Julian's. A few years after the Second World War the garden was turned into open-air roller skating rinks where people skated to live orchestras; in the late sixties an architect from Tigullio, in Italy, was commissioned to design a nightclub on the site, and the club took its name from there.
Through the seventies and eighties it was one of the leading nightspots of the island, built in Maltese stone and surrounded by trees, with a restaurant, two dance halls and a garden for live bands. It closed around 2000 and, after fifteen years of silence, reopened on 14 November 2015 under new management, with a large main hall, smaller rooms and a permanent stage.
That stage is why Tigullio matters today: it is the venue of the live rap showcases that bring French artists to Malta every summer, one-night-only shows organised by JLM Marketing, as well as themed club nights and St Patrick's Day parties. The showcases are listed on Malta Party Vibes with the official ticket link.
From roller rink to rap showcases
A garden in Spinola Bay becomes a series of open-air roller skating rinks, with live orchestras playing for the skaters.
An architect from Tigullio, Italy, designs a nightclub on the rinks: a restaurant, two dance halls and a garden for live bands. The name stays.
One of the leading nightspots in Malta, with big shows and the crowds of St Julian's. It closed around 2000 and stayed silent for fifteen years.
Tigullio reopens on 14 November under new management: a large hall, smaller rooms, a permanent stage and a warm, rustic décor.
Ten live rap showcases in summer 2026, from Kaaris to Gradur, organised by JLM Marketing and listed on Malta Party Vibes with the official ticket link.

The Tigullio experience
A club with history
Seventy years of nights in the same valley behind Spinola Bay: few venues on the island carry that much of Malta's social history.
Showcases, not just DJ sets
A permanent stage and a room built for live performances: this is where the French rap showcases happen, with the artist a few metres from the crowd.
A vibe of its own
Stone walls, trees around the building and a crowd that comes for the music. Minutes from Paceville, but nothing like it.
Tickets, tables & VIP reservations
Malta Party Vibes can help arrange tables and VIP areas for selected Tigullio nights. Tell us the show, the date and the size of your group and we confirm the options and the price; entry tickets are bought separately.
